Legion congratulates contest winners from Canora Composite

The winners of the annual Canora branch of the Royal Canadian Legion poster and writing contest included many students from Canora Composite School, and on June 14, they were presented their plaques by members of the branch.

The winners of the Royal Canadian Legion’s poster and writing contest received their awards at a presentation on June 14. The winners of the annual Canora branch of the Royal Canadian Legion poster and writing contest included many students from Canora Composite School, and on June 14, they were presented their plaques by members of the branch.

In the colour poster category, intermediate (grades 7, 8, and 9) winners were Maxwell Mydonyck in first place, Emily Owchar in second, and Mathew Rock in third. Robin Skurat won second place in the junior category for students in grades 4, 5, and 6.

In the black-and-white poster category, Jacob Gulka won first place and Gracie Paul won second place in the intermediate age group. Daniel Howell won for the junior age group.

Cassandra Danyluk won in the poetry category.

On behalf of the Legion, Pat Thompson and Paul Fransishyn presented the awards and congratulated all recipients.
