Lintlaw 75 Snowmobile Derby another success

There were 178 sleds attracted to the Lintlaw 75 Snowmobile Derby held on March 3. Riders had the opportunity to select from two trails that took riders through the Porcupine Forest, said Kathy Ambrose, Town of Lintlaw administrator.

There were 178 sleds attracted to the Lintlaw 75 Snowmobile Derby held on March 3.

Riders had the opportunity to select from two trails that took riders through the Porcupine Forest, said Kathy Ambrose, Town of Lintlaw administrator.

One trail featured a 75-mile trip while the other was a shorter 50-mile route. Riders met back at the Lintlaw Hall for supper and a dance with music by DJ James to conclude the evening, said Ambrose.

Alex Zeleny of Lintlaw won the prizes for the first and second-most hands raised. Zeleny also won first prize for carrying the first hand.
Brett Gabora  of Canora won the third prize for most hands.
Barry Engdahl of Saskatoon won first prize for most money raised in hands.

Rachelle Johannesson of Lintlaw won the second prize for most money raised and Devin Dearborn and Karen Smith, both of Lintlaw, won the third-place prize.

Mary Zaporosky was the oldest female ridder and her husband Dan Zaporosky was the oldest male rider. Both are from Edson. Alta.

Brent Pelechaty of Canora was the winner of the 2018 Skidoo raffle.

The Lintlaw Recreation Board and the community of Lintlaw, expressed gratitude for the overwhelming positive response and support of the 33rd annual Lintlaw 75 Snowmobile Derby, said Christine Depeel, one of the organizers.

"Over the past years we have strived to set the bar high in excellence, in order to offer our snowmobilers, the best experience possible and everyone’s unwavering support, dedication, and hard work allowed us to achieve an overwhelming success yet again," said Depeel.
