Local youth wins provincial hours in Remembrance day poster contest

Representatives from the Royal Canadian Legion Number 188, Preeceville branch, presented awards to Preeceville School students for their winning entries in the annual Remembrance Day poster and essay contest.

Representatives from the Royal Canadian Legion Number 188, Preeceville branch, presented awards to Preeceville School students for their winning entries in the annual Remembrance Day poster and essay contest.

            Jim Ward, a legion member, made the presentations in the poster category at the Preeceville School on November 20. Ward was back on February 16 to present Hallie Petryshyn with an award that her poster earned at the provincial level.

In the local colour poster category, Hallie Petryshyn won first place and received the opportunity for her poster to go on to the provincial competition. Anne Dela Cruz placed second and Hayley Payette placed third.

In the black and white poster category, Lyndon Gawrelitza placed first and moved on to the provincial competition. Zander Purdy place second and Shayla Roelens placed third.
