Man charged with throwing lawn mower at couple then stabbing man

Saskatoon Police have charged a 34-year-old man with aggravated after police say he threw a lawn mower at a 52-year-old man and 54-year-old woman before stabbing the man.

SASKATOON - A 34-year-old Saskatoon man is facing charges following a dispute that turned into an aggravated assault where a lawn mower was thrown at a couple and a man stabbed.  

At approximately 8 p.m., Nov. 27, police were called to a home in the 400 block of Avenue T South. When they arrived they found an injured man who reported an altercation had taken place resulting in his stab wounds. 

Officers found that an altercation had happened involving several people who were known to each other.  The 34-year-old man had reportedly thrown a lawn mower at the 52-year-old man and a 54-year-old woman, striking the woman. 

The accused then stabbed the 52-year-old man who is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.  The woman suffered a minor injury.  

The 34-year old-man was taken into custody at the scene.  While inside the telephone room in the SPS Detention Unit, officers witnessed him damage the phone, making it inoperable.  

He is facing charges of aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, and mischief.
