SASKATOON — A 22-year-old man is facing multiple charges, including sexual assault that took place on Campus Drive last week, Sept. 29.
The female victim reported to police, the following day after the incident, that an unknown male threatened her with a weapon and sexually assaulted her while inside a building at that location. The incident was also relayed to University of Saskatchewan staff and students.
Patrol officers were quickly able to identify a suspect and were attempting to locate him when reports were received regarding a robbery and an attempted robbery on Saturday.
During the first incident at approximately 9 p.m. a man was threatened by a male suspect and his keys were stolen. The suspect fled on foot.
A short time later an attempted robbery with violence was reported and responding officers were able to locate the suspect inside a nearby business.
The same man is believed to be responsible for the sexual assault, the robbery, and the attempted robbery with violence.
The man now faces Sexual Assault With a Weapon, Forcible Confinement, Uttering Threats, and Breach of Probation charges.
