SASKATOON — The Saskatoon Fire Department is thankful for the assistance provided by their colleagues in Martensville and Warman in responding to multiple incidents on Friday.

A rural response was dispatched originally comprising one fire engine, one brush truck, one tanker unit and the Battalion Chief.

The resources and collaboration that our partner fire services and SFD provide to one another are invaluable when needed and called upon.

The SFD communications centre at 4:11 p.m. received the report of a fire along the tracks north of 71st Street East.

The first arriving crews identified the fire close to New Holland and Sarcan. Multiple fires were identified which created multiple incidents requiring more resources dispatched to the scene.

No injuries have been reported to civilians or emergency personnel at this time.

Firefighters rotate regularly during extremely hot weather to keep them from overheating or dehydrating, staying safe to be in optimal condition.
