Miracle Lake Fish and Fun Day held March 24, was once again a huge success, according to event organizers.

Three groups consisting of the Norquay Curling Club, the Norquay Skating Rink and Prairie and Pine Snow Riders joined together to host the second annual derby.

The outpouring of generous donations and the tremendous help from amazing volunteers helped contribute to this incredible day spent out on the ice, said Rubieann Kluke, an organizer.

Event entrants purchased 119 holes, with the anticipation of catching “the big one,” Kluke said. This year’s grand prize of $1,000, for the largest northern pike weighing in at five pounds 15 ounces went to Brenden Pelechaty.

The grand prize of $1,000 for the largest perch, weighing in at four ounces, went to Betty Tonn.
