SASKATOON — The Métis Nation–Saskatchewan (MN–S) will host two conferences this weekend, namely the 'Métis Rights Youth Workshop - We Are the Future' and the 'Métis Rights Conference on UNDRIP - Shaping our Future.'
For the first time, young delegates will provide their perspectives on the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples and the future of our Métis Nation during the 'Métis Rights Youth Workshop.
The workshop will be held on May 4 from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on May 5 starting at 8:30 a.m. at the Dakota Dunes Resort.
The conference will focus on the rights of Métis citizens in Saskatchewan, the impact of UNDRIP on Métis communities, and the ongoing path to self-government.
Moreover, the conference will also observe a moment of remembrance in honour of the National Red Dress Day on May 5 to show support for our Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and 2SLGBTQQIA+ people.
MN-S leadership will be available for interviews following the opening ceremonies on both days.
Selected portions of the 'Métis Rights Conference on UNDRIP - Shaping our Future' will be streamed live.
