Jordan Vogel of Pelly was recently awarded a Monsanto-Canada Farmers Grow Communities award of $2,500, which he turned over to the Norquay Health Centre auxiliary, which is to use the money to purchase an awning for the Health Centre’s outdoor secure patio. Celebrating the donation recently, from left, were: Steve Kinaschuk and Gordon Whetstone, who are elders at Norquay Health Centre and are former farmers in the area; Jordon, Jace, Lori and Presley Vogel; Keith Griffith, Ed Bandura, Tom Brown and Victor Tataryn, who are also elders at Norquay Health Centre and some were farmers from the area; Teresa Luedeman, the Centre’s recreation co-ordinator; Reynold Friday, an elder at the Centre, and Wendy Naclia, the health services manager.
