The Buchanan Housing Authority Board of Directors has appointed Wendy Norrish as a new member.
Norrish is a Buchanan resident who will be joining the current board, including Shirley MacLeod, Sharon Murray, Adam Kosar and Nicholas Woloschuk (chairperson).
As a community-based organization, the Buchanan Housing Authority manages 16 housing units that are operated based on terms with a federal-provincial-municipal cost-sharing agreement.
Buchanan Housing Authority is just one of 260 housing authorities in Saskatchewan. Donna Harpauer, the Social Services Minister, says that volunteers are integral to the managing of housing authorities.
Over 1,400 volunteers assist with housing for low income families, seniors, and persons with disabilities. Interested volunteers wishing to serve on the Buchanan Housing Authority may contact the mayor of Buchanan for questions.
