The Yorkton Chamber of Commerce announces that no election will be required for the eight positions on the Chamber’s 2018 Board of Directors as the required 8 nominations were received.  Returning to the Board are Carol Yaholnitsky, Sarah Kowalchuk, Mike Stackhouse and Dustin Brears. New to the Board will be Bob Knox, Sunil Shah, Joseph Ortynsky and Ajay Tadi. Each Director will serve a two year term.

Juanita Polegi, Executive Director indicated that the new Directors will be offered some training early in 2018. Following the training, each Director will select at least one of the Chamber’s 4 standing committees on which to serve. “The work of the committees is important as each committee focuses on a different aspect of the Chamber’s mandate,” she said. “The committees examine an issue or opportunity and then make a recommendation to the entire Board as to how to proceed.”

The new members of the Board will take their seat at the Chamber Board table in January at which time the Executive is then elected by the Directors.

Directors serving the second year of their term in 2018 include Christopher Bogdan, Donna Brothwell, Habibat Kasim, Christopher Kosteroski, Brent Murdock, Mike Popowich, Neil Weber and Corey Werner.
