The Norquay Emmanuel Lutheran Church held its semi-annual two-day rummage, tea and bake sale on October 22 and 23.

Organizers said that they enjoyed a successful sale with everything available, from soup to clothing, ornaments, household items, baking, books, puzzles, movies, bikes and kids toys.

The leftover items are never kept from sale to sale but are taken to places that accept used items, such as the Mackenzie Centre in Preeceville, Value Village or the Salvation Army, they said.

Every year the Emmanuel women’s group sends $1,200 to $1,400 to various charities, including the Nelson Lake Bible Camp, Canadian Lutheran World Relief, On Eagles Wings, LAMP (Lutheran Association of Missionaries and Pilots), Teen Challenge, Christian Blind, and Shelwyn House.

“Although it is hard work to set up for the sale, then pack up and deliver leftovers, we enjoy fun and fellowship and by next year will be willing to do it over again,” an organizer said.
