Nutrien Ag Solutions hold grand opening for new Norquay facility

The new Nutrien Ag Solutions retail operation near Norquay officially opened its doors with a grand opening celebration on April 26. There were approximately 160 people in attendance, according to a release.

Speakers included Terry Dennis, MLA for Canora-Pelly, and Roger Bortis, Nutrien Ag Solutions Canadian Retail Manager.

Local farmers toured the new facility and enjoyed a barbecue lunch served by members of the Norquay branch of the Royal Canadian Legion.  

“Another growing season is here and Nutrien Ag Solutions is looking forward to serving area farmers from its new retail location,” stated the release.

The new retail site includes a fertilizer shed with a 10,000 tonne capacity, liquid fertilizer, anhydrous ammonia, seed treating facility, chemical shed and office. The retail operation employs six full-time and six seasonal staff.

“This state-of-the-art facility was three years in the making,” said Bortis. “We are committed to providing innovation for Saskatchewan farmers and investing in our rural communities with new infrastructure and employment opportunities.

“Nutrien Ag Solutions is here to help with fertilizer, seed, crop protection products, precision agriculture, storage and handling solutions, fuel and lubricants, and agronomic services for your farm. Proprietary product lines include Proven Seed, Loveland Products and Echelon.”

Visitors are encouraged to drop by and inspect the new operation, located six miles west of Norquay on highway 49.
