The building that previously had been known as the Sturgis Elementary School has a new lease on life. The Town of Sturgis took over the ownership of the building a few months after the school amalgamated with the high school in June 2017.

The building was renamed the Sturgis Multi-Complex after suggestions and art work were submitted by elementary school children. Town council selected the winning name from the entries.

"The Town took over the building with a vision of ensuring the 1 2 3 Care For Me Daycare remains in the community," said Mayor Alan Holmberg. " The daycare plays a vital role in our community. Spaces in other rooms are available to rent out as office space. We currently have the Sturgis Kinette nursery school, the Family Resource Centre and Ukrainian dance club utilizing some of the rooms," he said.
