Peewee Pats become league champions

The Preeceville Peewee Pats were crowned the Major Hockey League champions when they won the A banner on March 17. The A-banner game was played against Canora with Preeceville defeating Canora in both games played.

            The Preeceville Peewee Pats were crowned the Major Hockey League champions when they won the A banner on March 17. The A-banner game was played against Canora with Preeceville defeating Canora in both games played.

            The first game was hosted in Preeceville on March 15 with Preeceville battling for the win and that game went to a 6-5 win in overtime. After the first period the teams were tied 1-1. The second period had Canora take control by scoring four goals for a 5-1 lead.

            The Pats battled back by scoring four goals to send the game into overtime. In overtime Trever Geistlinger found the net for the win.

            Scoring for the Pats were Todd Pankratz (two), Shae Peterson, Dustin Shankowsky and Trever Geistlinger. Assists were made by Geistlinger, Brynn Babiuk, Jakob Turchinetz and Jillian Tonn.

            The second game was hosted in Canora on March 17. The Pats cruised to an easy 8-3 win. Scoring for the Pats were: Kaiden Masley (two goals), Matheson Petryshyn, Dustin Shankowsky (four goals) and Todd Pankratz. Assist were made by Trever Geistlinger, Seth Hort, Jakob Turchinetz, Shae Peterson, Todd Pankratz and Jillian Tonn.
