Poker derby this weekend

Calder Annual Poker Derby is set for March 6, 2016. Registration at the Rink starting at nine o’clock till noon. Breakfast starts at nine till eleven. Beautiful trail through the scenic Assiniboine Valley. Food, Gas at half way point.

Calder Community Hall rent is up to $17.50 per hour.

Calder Community Cookbooks are available at the Village of Calder Office.

Village of Calder Office hours are Tues. 9-5, Wed. 9-5 and Thurs. 9-3. Calder School students and teacher went on their Annual Ski Trip to Assessippi. Many parents and siblings joined us for a day of fun. The Calder School would like to thank all the parents who came out to help that day.

Mrs. Zelionka would like to thank all her students that participated in the after school archery program that was held on Tues. and Thurs. at the Calder Community Hall.

The Calder students have been using the Calder Skating Rink for part of their physical education program.

On Feb. 12, 2016 the Calder students and teacher were treated to a Lasagna Lunch provided  by the CSSC. Students exchanged valentines. Then the students went to the Calder Community Hall to take part in the Jump Rope for Heart.

Some of the students got to pie Mrs. Betts and Mrs. Rapchalk for raising over their goal of $400.00. The Calder Students raised over a $1000.00 for Jump Rope for Heart. Way to go Calder students.

Hope the students and Teacher had a good February break.

The Calder Seniors have been busy too! Here are the winners from some of the Whist Drives that are held at the Calder Good Neighbour Centre. The winners are as follows: 1st Richard Zazalencuk, 2nd Arthur Martenuk, 3rd Mildred Danylko, low Lil Wozny. The Pot of Gold winners were Lil Wozny and Donna Fustey. Whist Drive winners are: 1st Mildred Danylko, 2nd Arnold Balabuk, 3rd Jim Fustey and Anne Mostoway, low Judy Pryslak. The Pot of Gold winners are Donna Fustey and Anne Mostoway.
