Police arrest cocaine traffickers

SASKATOON - Two Saskatoon men are facing charges following an investigation by members of the Saskatoon Police Service Drug Unit.

On Aug. 26, investigators conducted a traffic stop on Circle Drive near the Attridge Drive exit at approximately 8 p.m.

The 38-year-old male driver was in possession of more than $450 in cash, contraband cigarettes and a cell phone.

Inside the vehicle, officers located 2.8 grams of cocaine and five packages of contraband cigarettes.

A subsequent search was conducted at a home in the 500 block of Reid Way where officers found 86.8 grams of cocaine, 4.1 grams of crack cocaine, 15.3 grams of what is believed to be a cutting agent, more than $4,000 in cash, two Airsoft handguns and drug paraphernalia.

A second man, 23 years of age, was arrested at the scene.

Both men are now facing charges of trafficking cocaine, possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, and possession of the proceeds of crime.
