Teams from Preeceville, Sturgis, Kamsack and Norquay battled for the opportunity to advance to districts in Yorkton in senior pre-district badminton play on April 19.
Preeceville School hosted the event with players in singles and doubles facing off.
Brenna Watson of Kamsack defeated Steven Kardynal of Sturgis in boys singles. In girls singles, Kaylie Bowes of Kamsack defeated Teisha Papequash.
Cody Heskin and Tyler Shankowsky of Norquay defeated Michael Chan and Henry Thomas of Kamsack in boys’ doubles. Kelly Bazuik and Danielle Burym defeated Rhianna Olson and Peyton Secundiak, all of Sturgis, in the girls doubles.
In the mixed category, Kyle Morgan and LexieTomochko of Kamsack defeated Ethan Quezance and Vienna Severight of Kamsack.
