One person has been hired to join the teaching staff at the Victoria School in Kamsack.
Heather Netzel is working with the Pre-Kindergarten students. Although she did not have a class until yesterday (Wednesday), she has been doing home visits, and as of the middle of last week she had met the families of half the class.
On a half-time contract, Netzel works mornings with the students who are aged three and four years. She is to have a maximum of 16 students.
Born and raised on a farm near Melville, she is one of 12 children. She attended Melville Comprehesnive School and then graduated with a bachelor of edcuaiton degree from the University of Regina in 2011.
Since her graduation, Netzel, who lives with her husband Brad in Yorkton, has worked as a substitute teacher with the Regina Public Schools and within Good Spirit School Division.
Among her non-work interests are reading and crocheting, a skill she had been taught by her mother and aunt.
