The 17-year-old male pedestrian (from George Gordon First Nation) was pronounced deceased at the scene by EMS. His family has been notified. The RCMP is not releasing his name.
The adult male driver of the vehicle involved remained at the scene.
No charges have been laid. The investigation is ongoing by Punnichy RCMP and RCMP Collision Reconstruction. The road was closed for the duration of the investigation, but has since been opened.
