Rodeo and team penning events approved by council

            At its regular meeting of June 13, council approved a request from the Kamsack and District Indoor Rodeo Association to hold its 18th annual indoor rodeo at the Broda Sportsplex on September 30 and October 1.

            Council also approved a request from the Kamsack Team Penners to use the facility for the group’s annual team penning competition on September 24.

            Council approved the acceptance of a revised construction and demolition policy which re-opens a refuse-receiving site near the water treatment plant with current and competitive rates and regulations.

            Approval was granted to obtain the services of the Fitzpatrick’s Occupational Therapy company to complete an ergonomic assessment of the town office.

            A request from Karen Deobald to consolidate Lots 14 and 15, Block 16, Plan S3319 was approved, as was a request from Darin Bebenek and Crystal Fissel to consolidate lots 16 and 17, Block 15, Plan BY 4629.

            Council approved a request from KamKids Daycare to utilize the Kamsack Swimming Pool free of charge, provided it has one adult for every three children using the facility. The daycare was also granted permission to sell 50/50 draw tickets during the Canada Day celebrations.

            Council introduced, gave three readings to and adopted four bylaws dealing with a hay salvage agreement with Peter Fofonoff; cleaning and maintenance services with Greg Leis for the town office and Crowstand Centre, and for the hiring of Denise Podovinnikoff for driving the handi-bus.
