Saskatoon man facing charges after $1.1M fraud

The suspect allegedly stole $1.1 million worth of merchandise

SASKATOON — The Saskatoon Police Service's  Economic Crime Unit has charged a 45-year-old man in connection to a fraud that took place between September of 2013 and June of 2018.

In June of 2018, SPS received a report from a business in the 2900 block of Idylwyld Drive North, of an employee stealing merchandise and selling it for personal profit.

During a five-year span, the suspect allegedly stole $1.1 million worth of merchandise.

On Jan. 4th, Tuesday, the 45-year-old man surrendered to SPS and was charged with fraud and theft over $5,000. His first court appearance will be on Feb. 9.
