The Canora/Sturgis RCMP responded to 25 calls during the week of July 8 to July 15, some of which included: two traffic accidents, five provincial traffic offences, four other provincial statutes, one theft, two mischiefs, one fraud and seven other incidents.
On July 9, the Canora/Sturgis RCMP responded to a complaint of a stolen truck in Preeceville. Police investigated the matter. and arrested and charged a male for theft of vehicle, failing to comply with undertaking conditions and mischief under $5,000. The male was remanded into custody on these charges and numerous outstanding warrants of arrest.
The Canora/Sturgis RCMP received a complaint on July 10 of an ATV collision in Preeceville. The driver of the ATV received minor injuries.
Trouble at Sandy Beach
The Canora/Sturgis RCMP received a complaint about increased traffic, bylaw, and environmental violations occurring at Sandy Beach on July 11. Police continue to investigate.
On July 14, the Canora/Sturgis RCMP assisted the Sturgis Fire Department with a vehicle fire south of Endeavour on a grid road.
The Canora/Sturgis RCMP responded to a report on July 14 of a disturbance outside of a residence in Canora. Police attended and located both a male and female, agitated and intoxicated. Both subjects were arrested. During their arrest, the female subject kicked one of the arresting officers. The female was charged with assaulting a police officer.
A complainant attended the Canora RCMP reporting ongoing vandalism to his property in Canora on July 14. Police attended and gathered evidence. The investigation is ongoing.
On July 14, a charcoal gray Mongoose bicycle with "Mongoose" written on it in green lettering was stolen from outside of a residence in Canora.
