Saskatoon police charge man with attempted murder

SASKATOON — In a release issued Monday, Saskatoon Police say they have arrested and charged a man in connection to a shooting on Bushe Place on Friday morning.

At approximately 9 a.m., Jan. 7, police responded to an unknown problem at a residence in the 10 block of Bushe Place. Upon arrival, they located a 37-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported, and remains in hospital, for treatment of life-threatening injuries.

Following an investigation by Patrol and the Serious Assault Unit, a 37-year-old man was located at a hotel in the 1100 block of Idylwyld Drive North in the early morning hours of Jan. 8. He was arrested by the Tactical Support Unit and Integrated Crime Reduction Team (ICRT). At the time of his arrest, he was in possession of a Kevlar vest and a pellet gun. He is charged with attempted murder, point firearm, and prohibited possession of firearm.
