Saskatoon police drug unit arrest alleged cocaine traffickers

Investigation is still ongoing against five alleged drug traffickers

The evidence confiscated by the Saskatoon Police Service from several suspects now facing drug-related charges.

SASKATOON — Four men are facing a number of drug-related charges following an investigation into cocaine trafficking by the Saskatoon Police Service Drug Unit.

The four men — ages 22, 24, 26 and 28 — were arrested in two separate traffic stops where police located four cell phones, 4.7 grams of cocaine and approximately $2,000 in cash. A fifth man, 32 years old, was arrested in the 100 block of Wakaw Crescent.

A search of a residence in the 100 block of Wakaw Crescent resulted in investigators locating approximately $13,000 in cash, 1,791.30 grams of cocaine, 7.3 grams of psilocybin (shrooms), four pounds of cannabis, and drug paraphernalia. 

A 24-year-old man from Edmonton is facing charges of trafficking cocaine, possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, possession of psilocybin, possession of the proceeds of crime (X2), and two charges under the Cannabis Act. 

A 22-year-old man from Saskatoon is facing charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, possession of the proceeds of crime (X2), possession of psilocybin and two charges under the Cannabis Act.

A 26-year-old man from Winnipeg is facing charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, possession of a weapon (brass knuckles), and carrying a concealed weapon. 

A 28-year-old man from Saskatoon is facing charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, possession of the proceeds of crime (x2), possession of psilocybin, and two charges under the Cannabis Act.

Investigation is still ongoing and further charges are pending.
