Update: Saskatoon Police make arrest in bear spray incidents

Update: Members of the Saskatoon Police Service Serious Assault Unit have arrested a man in connection to the deployment of bear spray into a crowd at the Exhibition Grandstand on Aug. 13.

Following investigation, a 26-year-old Saskatoon man has been charged with assault with a weapon (x13).

Police wish to thank members of the public for their assistance in this investigation.

SASKATOON - The Saskatoon Police Service is investigating at least three incidents in which bear spray was deployed in and around the Saskatoon Ex.  

The most recent incident occurred at approximately 9 p.m., Aug. 13 in a crowded public space during a concert. SPS members were already on-duty at the site and responded. Numerous people suffered minor injuries consistent with the effects of bear spray and were treated at the scene by paramedics.
