The Preeceville School Community Council spearheaded a community garden project that provided a learning opportunity for students. The organizers and students harvested the vegetables on September 29.

Students from the school were involved in the planting and harvesting of the vegetables. The plots are located in front of the Preeceville School.

The idea was to provide a natural garden area for the community and provide a learning opportunity for the students, said Kim Sandager. The garden was organic and the students helped with the harvest. The produce is being used in the school to help provide healthy snacks as ingredients for lunch and the Breakfast Cafe.

"We wanted to encourage students to get involved in the planting and harvesting of the various vegetables,” Sandager explained.
