Sturgis Elementary School students were presented awards for their winning entries in the Legion’s Remembrance Day poster and poem contest on April 12. Betty Lou Skogen, Denise McGonigal, Rachael Maher, Laura Dahl, Smith Thomson, Barb Fraser and Donna Lulashnyk, all representing the Norquay Legion, made the presentations.
Students in grades 1, 2 and 3 who received awards in the posters category, were: Cole Masley (first place) and Cole Secundiak (second place). Natalie Gregory received an honourable mention.
Students in the grade 4, 5 and 6 who received awards in the colour posters category were Kaiden Masley, first place, and Skyler Ryczak, second place.
In the black-and-white poster category, Coby Head placed first andBailey Petersen received an honorable mention.
Jonathon Alblas placed second in the poem category.
