Santa Claus attends Shop Sturgis and Win event

Sturgis residents enjoyed the opportunity to do some last-minute shopping while youngsters visited with Santa Claus during the Shop Sturgis and Win event held on December 8.

"It was great to see so many out having fun sitting with Santa, having a free hot dog and wagon ride," said Carla Keller, Crossroads Credit Union representative.

Children had an opportunity to sit with Santa Claus to tell them their wish lists and receive a special treat bag compliments of the Town of Sturgis, Sturgis Kinettes and the Gateway Co-op. Free hot dogs were compliments of the Crossroads Credit Union and Gateway Co-op.

Lloyd Smith and his team of horses provided free wagon rides which was sponsored by the Sturgis Chamber of Commerce.

Christmas music could be heard throughout the downtown area, broadcast from the Grace United Church. Dmytrash's One Stop provided hot chocolate to all children.

Other businesses that participated during the evening included Promises Christian Store, Crosscuts, Lil's Fashions, Salon 101, Sportsland and the Black Bear Inn.
