The Sturgis Composite School has opened its doors to providing a breakfast for students. The program kicked off January 16 with Kendra Fowler responsible for operating the program.

"It was difficult to get the program running but we managed to find someone willing to take it on," said Karolyn Kosheluk, Family Resource Centre spokesperson.

Kosheluk started talking about implementing the program in the Sturgis School a year ago but was met with concerns from the staff that it was a big responsibility for staff to undertake.

Grant funding was attained and Kosheluk engaged Kendra Fowler, a community member, who decided to undertake the program.

The breakfast cafe offers a free breakfast for students on a daily basis.
