Town Council approves hiring of new water treatment plant operator

            Council approved the hiring of Darcy Rewakowsky as water treatment plant operator, effective October 1.

            A bylaw to enter into a sign corridor agreement with SS. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church was introduced, given first, second and third readings, and adopted by council.

            Council extended the deadline of Shawn Stefanowich’s offer to purchase Lot 1, Block 12, Plan AG1454 to October 7, with the understanding that no further extensions will be considered.

            Council authorized emergency measures organization (EMO) co-ordinator Randy Molyneaux to travel to Yorkton on September 18 to review Sunrise Health Region emergency preparedness plans and to attend the incident command system training to be held October 13 and 14 in Yorkton.

            Council tabled the request for a contribution to the Smart Choices for Life program as made by Canora Ambulance and Community Safety Net.
