Town council approves staff training and enforces council code of conduct

            Council authorized Eric Boychuk, Labourer I, to attend the Class 1 Wastewater Treatment and Collection training to be held January 22 to 26 by Saskatchewan Polytechnic in Saskatoon, with expenses to be reimbursed by the Town.

            Council authorized Courtney Bourassa, administrative assistant, to attend the Municipal Leadership Development Program (MLDP) Human Resources in the Municipal Workplace training to be held November 30 in Preeceville, with expenses to be reimbursed by the Town.                 

            Council appointed Mayor Gina Rakochy to the Canora Community Child Care Centre Inc.

            Under the North East District Board of Revision agreement, council agreed to increase the board member remuneration to $100 per day; secretary remuneration to $20 per hour; meal expense allowance to $27 per day, and training workshop remuneration to $100 per day.

            Council authorized Michael Mykytyshyn, Chief Administrative Officer, to sign the release on behalf of the CN Station House Museum regarding the distribution of the estate for Donald John Prodanchuk.

            Council agreed to prohibit Councillor Brent Pelechaty from attending all council meetings for 90 days, effective immediately, following his disrespectful behaviour towards the Town of Canora bylaw enforcement officer, contrary to the council code of conduct and ethics bylaw.
