Town council deals with library, sidewalk and sewage lagoon issues

            After meeting with a delegation of Cecelia Cazakoff, Nicole Larson and Karry-Ann Nunn on behalf of the Kamsack Public Library Board, council approved a request to cover costs of electrical upgrades of $537 for the library’s reception area.

            Council approved a sidewalk and curb plan for 2016 and an expenditure of about $450 to excavate a section of the primary lagoon in front of the sewage disposal chute.

            A tax rebate of $1,133 for King Solomon Lodge was approved.

            Requests from Pat McMillan to purchase Lot 12, Block 1, Plan AB5200 and Lot 11, Block 1, Plan AB5200 and have the two lots consolidated was approved.

            Council introduced, gave three readings to and adopted a noise bylaw and a bylaw to regulate the operation of all-terrain vehicles, snowmobiles and golf carts within the community.

            Ratification was given to the hiring of the following persons at the Kamsack Swimming Pool: Alex Cottenie, Mia Cottenie, Elizabeth Hilderman, Tyrone Hofseth, Cassidy Irvine, Chloe Irvine, Kira Kitsch, Lauren McNiel, Mehlan McNiel, Kiera Nikiforoff, Allison Thomsen, James-Ross Tourangeau, Colin Tulloch, Lucille Villeneuve and Sheri Nikiforoff as a contract person.
