Turtleford RCMP: Member involved shooting with injury

Tuesday, RCMP officers from the Turtleford Detachment responded to multiple reports of a dangerous, possibly impaired driver in the Turtleford area.

Tuesday, RCMP officers from the Turtleford Detachment responded to multiple reports of a dangerous, possibly impaired driver in the Turtleford area.

 

As two police officers approached the vehicle, one officer sustained a serious, but believed to be non-life threatening injury and has been taken to hospital in Turtleford.

 

One adult suspect male has been arrested and taken to hospital for what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

 

At this time, police believe there is no risk to public safety.

 

Members of the public can expect to see an increased police presence for an undetermined amount of time west of Mervin on the Highway 794 grid. The public are asked to avoid the area and obey traffic rerouting directions.

 

Assistant Commissioner Mark Fisher, Commanding Officer of the Saskatchewan RCMP, will be providing a statement at 5:30 p.m. at Saskatchewan RCMP Headquarters, 6101 Dewdney Avenue, Regina.
