SASKATOON — Two people from Saskatoon have been charged with murder after a man was found deceased on a road near the city.

A 33-year-old woman and a 27-year-old man have been charged with second-degree murder after RCMP received a report of an injured person on Friday afternoon.

At approximately 1:15 p.m., April 15, Warman RCMP responded to a report of an injured person on Hodgson Road near Highway 7, about five kilometres southwest of Saskatoon. The 22-year-old man was pronounced deceased shortly after emergency responders arrived.

RCMP Investigators determined the man had been at a Saskatoon residence in the 600 block of Wardlow Road. RCMP Major Crime investigators contacted Saskatoon Police Service Major Crime Section for assistance and both agencies continued the investigation.

At approximately 11 p.m., April 16, Saskatoon police arrested two suspects from the address on Wardlow Road.

This incident is not believed to be random.

In their release last week, RCMP identified the victim as being from Fishing Lake First Nation and said his family had been notified, but that they weren't releasing his name at that time.
