SASKATOON — The Saskatoon Fire Department and the Saskatoon Police Service responded to assist in a single vehicle collision on Monday.
The incident was reported at 1:21 p.m. were the vehicle collided with a fire hydrant in Avenue D North.
SFD dispatched two engines and one rescue truck to help SPS officers in pulling out one female that got trapped inside the vehicle.
Fire crews, upon arrival, saw the vehicle on the sidewalk with the broken hydrant just a few feet away.
SPS was also assisting the driver out of her car and was safely removed from the vehicle.
The patient was transferred to the ambulance service for assessment. Fire crews proceeded to conduct an environmental cleanup.
