It wasn’t until after 5 p.m. November 10 before traffic was flowing in both directions indicating that the accident scene from the fatal accident in the morning had been cleared away.

At approximately 10:22 a.m., Canora RCMP responded to a report of a three-vehicle collision on Highway No. 9, approximately four miles north of Ebenezer.

The RCMP’s initial investigation revealed that a 2013 Honda Civic was being driven northbound on Hwy No. 9 with one lone female occupant, the 76-year-old driver, and it appeared to have crossed over the centre line into the path of oncoming vehicles. The Honda collided with a southbound 2011 Ford Ranger with two occupants from the Preeceville area, a female driver born in 1958 and a female passenger born in 1931.  Following the initial collision, a 2012 Hyundai Veracruz also driving southbound, collided with the Honda as well. The Hyundai had two occupants from Canora, one female driver born in 1953 and a male passenger born in 1946.

The 76-year-old female from Yorkton was pronounced dead at the scene. The remaining people involved were taken to hospital in Yorkton with what were reported to have been non-life threatening injuries.

Canora RCMP, along with the assistance of a Collision Reconstructionist, continued their investigation into cause this collision.
