Curlers got a chance to work on their stances and improve their delivery methods at the Gallagher Centre on Nov. 5 as part of a new program.

They were participating in an adult curling instructions course. The class was organized by the Yorkton Curling Club.

“This is the first time we’ve done it in a few years,” said Pat Kuspira, a member with the club’s board of directors. “We were able to get some grant money and offer this up to our curlers.”

The course focuses on throwing, sweeping, game etiquette, and strategies. Instructors guide particpants through techniques and forms. The class is designed for people who have curled before and want to elevate their game.

“All those little things improve your game that much more,” Kuspira said.

The course happens on Sundays at 2:30 p.m. It will be running for three weeks starting on Nov. 19.

“We’ll go from there,” Kuspira said.

The classes are free for curling club members. People can register by calling the curling rink office at 306-783-4127.
