Bantams lose 7-5

The bantam UCT Terriers hosted the West Central Wheat Kings over the weekend and lost 7-5. West Central scored four unanswered goals in the third period.


The bantam UCT Terriers hosted the West Central Wheat Kings over the weekend and lost 7-5. West Central scored four unanswered goals in the third period.

Doing most of the scoring for Yorkton was Chance Patterson who supplied his team with three goals, two in the opening period and a third goal to open up period two.

Despite the setback, Yorkton holds a two-game cushion on the Regina Oilers for fourth place in the Saskatchewan Bantam AA Hockey League standings south division.

The Prairie Storm continue to hold top spot with 32 points, Weyburn in second place with 26, Melville has 23 points and Yorkton is next with 22 points.

Turner Ottenbreit and Branden Pelechaty had goals in the 7-5 loss.

Pelechaty and Tanner Mak had a pair of assists each.

Shane Collins had three points, including his team's first two goals to lead his team to the win.

NEXT GAME

The next home game for the bantam Terriers is in two weeks time when they close out their home schedule when the Prairie Storm come to town for a 7:30 p.m., start at the Kinsmen Arena on Feb. 12.
