A day of motocross (MX) racing was held on the weekend of Aug. 25-26 at the Millstone Raceway just outside of Yorkton.

It was the CMRC Sask Provincial Motocross Championship Race at Millstone Raceway presented by The Yorkton Motorcycle Club. Competitors came from all over the province to compete in numerous race categories.

Some of the familiar local names in MX racing took top 10 finishes with a handful of them finishing in the top 3.

They include Zachary Hudy, first overall in the Intermediate MX-2, placing in first in each of the two motos. He had a great race with two 1st place finishes in Intermediate MX2 (one level below the pro class), says Rick Bradshaw of Hudy. Bradshaw represents the Yorkton Motorcycle Club.

In the Junior MX-2 category, there were four finishers from Yorkton. Haylen Langelier came in third out of 28 racers. "It's 14 year old Haylen's first year in Junior MX2 racing the big bike against the men and he had his best finish of the year with a 3rd overall."

Levi Litvanyi placed sixth in the same category.

Serge Yacyshyn placed in 11th and Kennedy Lutz came in 16th.

Lutz also placed in the top 10 in the Ladies event. Denaye Giroux took top spot in the event with first place finishes in each of the two motos.

In the Plus 50, Rick Dawson came in second in the event. Terry Wruck of Saskatoon placed in first while Don Stynsky of North Battleford rounded out the three finishers in the event. In the Pro Gp, there were two Yorkton riders. Kane Dawson made the top 10, coming in eighth while Hudy placed 13th. He rode great and had a couple of 2nd place moto finishes on the day but a couple of bad motos (races) put him off the podium, says Bradshaw of Dawson.
