Canadian Wrestling’s Elite (CWE) has made Yorkton a permanent part of their tour schedule, and the city was the second stop on their newest tour.
Danny Warren with CWE says that it was an awesome event like usual, and that’s why they’re always glad to be back in the city.
“It’s always a fun, wild crowd, the students always come out and they’re always energetic and very responsive. We always look forward to it.”
The partnership between CWE and Yorkdale Central is one of the reasons why they look forward to the Yorkton stop on the tour, explains Warren.
“Our wrestlers have built bonds with the students who watch us during the show. It’s really interactive, it’s a lot of fun, and we feel a part of the community here.”
The return to Yorkdale also means a return to the long-standing rivalry between the wrestlers and the students. The wrestlers were finally able to defeat the students in a game of basketball.
“We’ve lost to the students on a few occasions, almost every occasion but today. We came ready, we came prepared, our pride had been hurt in the past so we took it to the kids today. I’m sure they’re going to be training extra hard for the rematch when we come back in April.”
Saturday, April 29 will be the next time CWE hits Yorkton, as part of their 8th anniversary tour. Warren is excited about hitting the milestone.
“We’re just really excited that everybody has been supporting us for as long as we have and letting us do what we’re passionate about.”
