Daniels' Discusses Golf Discs

Daredevil Discs are one of my favourite disc golf lines, and it's great they are a Canadian manufacturer to boot.

Daredevil Discs are one of my favourite disc golf lines, and it's great they are a Canadian manufacturer to boot.

The Swift Fox is one of Daredevil's more interesting discs, since it is a lightweight offering, with the driver tipping the scales at 156 grams, with lower weight options available.

As mentioned last season ultralight discs are an evolving part of the disc golf sport, with some tourneys exclusive to using the lighter weight discs, so it is a good thing to look at having a few lighter discs in the collection. The Swift Fox is not a true ultralight disc but is a good transition disc to learn how to attack a course with lighter offerings.

Even if you're not up to tourney play, and locally those have yet to happen at Patrick Park Disc Golf Course, choosing to attack the course with only lighter discs diversifies the gaming experience.

So you need to start with a lightweight driver and the Swift Fox is a worthy choice.

The Swift Fox has a gummy feel, and that certainly improves the all important grip you need to get a really good throw in. The grippy feel is a bonus in a drizzle too.

As for flight pattern the company website says it "has a straight to understable flight pattern."

Having a predictable straight flight is always a good thing, in particular if you come up against a tight fairway off the 'T'. That may not be an issue at Patrick Park, but I can assure some course have trees lining the launch sites.

Overall the Swift Fox is a very solid compliment to a disc golf set. It may not make the bag for every round, but there are going to be places you like have a straight-shooting, lightweight to lean on.
