Sixteen teams started and one was left standing as Michelle Englot outlasted Karissa Murray during the Yorkton stop on the Saskatchewan Women's Curling Tour over the weekend at the Gallagher Centre.

Englot, who curls out of the Tartan Club in Regina said having a bye into the semi finals helped when they advanced to the finals.

She is no stranger to winning at curling.

"Oh gosh," she said, moments after her win in the finals.

"This is our second tournament win," adding that her team was the survivor two weeks earlier when they played in Swift Current.

"We played fairly consistently," she told media.

"We got a bye into the semis," she said, half out of breath.

She beat Barker which put her into the finals. She went undefeated in tournament play on Sunday which saw her win all four draws.

She beat Eberle in the 10 a.m., draw on Sunday.

On the opening day of the women's cashspiel, she got past Cathy Inglis, Penny Barker and Sherry Just.

In the finals against Murray, Englot said the fifth end was the biggest end, one big shot by Murray could have sent the momentum the other way, says Englot after the 3-1 win.

She also credited the ice at the local club.

"It's excellent ice. It has really good movement," she said, adding that it makes for a "more challenging game".

When asked the key to winning her second tournament of the Saskatchewan Women's Curling Tour, Englot replied that her positioning of the rocks was exactly what she needed it to be.

"Positioning the rocks, directing the trafficwe were a little more aggressive today."

Her key end was obviously the fifth end, she explains.

"Yeah, definitelythe steal in five was key."

She couldn't pick out one team that made her life difficult throughout the course of the tournament. The women's tour brings along 16 teams, each presenting challenges, she points out.

"Every team that we playedevery team is very strong."

In winning the cashspiel, Englot and her team were presented with the winner's cheque by Cliff Trombley on behalf of the Cornerstone Credit Union. In recording her second win of the women's tour, Englot picked up 10 more points. She said she expects to finish in second place in the overall standings, likely behind Trish Paulsen of Saskatoon.
