The Harvest skated into Swift Current Saturday afternoon.

They looked just fine until the third period.

Yorkton jumped out to a 2-0 lead by the end of the second period on goals by Lynnden Pastachak and Nicholas Pouliot.

Goaltender Teryn Phaneuf slammed the door shut for a little more than two periods and skated to a 4-3 win on home ice at the Credit Union Iplex.

Justin Spagrud kickstarted the Swift Current comeback but Yorkton's Devin McGonigal got Yorkton's two-goal lead back minutes later.

However three unanswered Swift Current goals by Spagrud, Blayke Fournier and Dexter Brickler put the home side up 4-3.

Three of Swift Current's four third-period markers came on special teams, including one short handed effort.

Special teams turned out to be huge that night. Both teams scored twice in those situations, while the total opportunities were 35 between the two clubs. Yorkton had 18 chances.

Nine calls in total were made to both teams for contact to the head.

The two teams faced off again the following day with Swift Current coming out on top again by a 6-3 final.

The back-to-back losses to the Legionaires over the weekend put the Harvest into a three-game losing skid. Yorkton's weekend last weekend started off with an 8-5 loss at home to Tisdale (Oct. 5) in which they kept pace with the opponents but could not hang in all the way for the win.

The Harvest were able to recover in the middle frame with three goals as the two teams headed for the third period neck-and-neck with the Harvest trailing 5-4.

Jake McMillen, Dakota Odgers and Tanner Lesann all had goals in the second period.

Lynnden Pastachak had gotten Yorkton on the board in the first period with an unassisted marker.

In the third period, Tisdale added to their lead with three more goals.

Yorkton answered back once.

Odgers scored his second of the night with 1:48, ending the game in an 8-5 final.

Austin Rediron got the win in net for Tisdale, blocking 29 of the 34 shots he faced.

Teryn Phaneuf played over 52 minutes in goal for the Harvest, stopping 27 of 31 shots.

Spencer Bomboir saw 6:24 of playing time, allowing four goals on eight shots. Next up for the team will be two road games within the next seven days before they return home.

Tomorrow night, they head out to Tisdale where they will play the Trojans.

Next Tuesday night, they play in Notre Dame against the Hounds.

Their next home action will be a weekend homestand in which they will host the Saskatoon Blazers on the Saturday and Sunday.

They also play Tisdale that Wednesday night.
