On Wednesday, September 6, Yorkton’s Inner Cycle Studio celebrated their first birthday. To celebrate, the studio brought all of their bikes to Yorkton’s City Centre Park to offer outdoor rides, merchandise sales and a barbecue.

The stationary cycling studio has grown into a popular fitness experience in Yorkton, with a unique and modern social media presence to showcase what they offer.

Owner Bailey Popowich said the ‘birthday party’ was put together to celebrate the riders and community who have supported them in their first year of business.

Popowich said what has made them so successful is offering an inclusive environment.

“We have people from all ends of the fitness spectrum that come and they feel like it’s a place that they can feel comfortable and belong and it feels like a second home, some people say,” Popowich explained. “When they walk in, it feels good. And it kind of brightens everyone’s day. It’s a place where people come and feel good.”

The positive workout atmosphere is the perfect place for riders to get an intense, full body workout.

The rides start off with a warm up. They then pick up the pace, involve hand-held weights and body-weight movements, and a cool down. Rides take 50 minutes. And while it’s a challenging workout, it’s appropriate for any fitness level because you can make it your own.

“It’s really for your own fitness,” said Popowich. “If you feel like you need to work harder, you can always dial up. If you feel like you need to sit down the whole ride, then that’s completely okay. Everyone gives their own 100 per cent.”

The rides are all to upbeat music, and the studio has dimmed lights to make for a fun, non-intimidating atmosphere.
