The Yorkton Regional High School (YRHS) junior boys football team had their way with a younger Weyburn team on Saturday and were very much able to take it to them and improve their standings to 2-4.
"It wasyou knowdefinitelywe did win our game last weekend too," uttered head coach Mike Jarvis, following the game which saw his team score enough points to spread them all out through the rest of the season and maybe win a few more games before the season ends next month.
They plowed over Weyburn 62-6.
"You don't ever want to run up the score like that but"
Jarvis seemed in disbelief when it came time to talking about where the Raiders could be seeded in the Regina Minor Football League (RMFL) standings.
"As far as I knowwe should be sitting in eighth place."
There is still plenty of football to be played in the RMFL standings and Jarvis told a small horde of journalists that he does not expect to win any more games by a 60-point margin like they did here on Saturday.
"Wellyou knowthe next two games are going to be tough!"

had one victory under their belt heading into the Weyburn tilt, Jarvis also said maybe it will up the team's confidence the way nothing else could with only a few games remaining as they look to clinch a post season position, where crazy things have been known to take place.
"If anything else, I hope it instills some confidence."

The Raiders could have gone to sleep in the second half and probably still clinched the win and there wasn't any comfort on the sidelines for fear that one bad play could turn things upside down.
Could Complacency have been an issue?
"Big time," insist Jarvis.
"Don't get lazy! Keep your head in the game," was his message both at the halftime break as well as through the third and fourth quarters.
According to the RMFL standings, Yorkton now sits at 2-4, one win better than both the Lakers and Estevan Steelers and one win below the Lumsden Jr. Devils, Sundevils, Dinos and the Renegades.
NIGHT GAME
The YRHS senior team will be hosting their second annual night game. It will be this Friday at Century Field when they play host to Moose Jaw's Central Cyclones. Kickoff is 7 p.m. Admission is free. The game will complete a short week for the senior Raiders who are coming off a 46-1 victory last Saturday afternoon when they travelled to Weyburn.
