The Canora Golf and Country Club brought in seniors from around the province for its Senior Men’s and Women’s Golf Tournament.
The sunny weather meant golfers from Canora, Kamsack, Preeceville, Yorkton, Good Spirit Lake, Regina, and Wadena could play all day on August 29.
“A lot of the golfers were actually from out of town,” said Donna Rock, manager of the Canora Golf and Country Club.
Women played two flights, and the men played three. Awards were given to the top three golfers in each flight.
In the women’s championship flight, Janice Gervais of Yorkton was awarded first place, with Gaylene Pasiechnik of Preeceville and Shelley Schmalenburg placing second and third respectively.
In the women’s first flight, Dot Bordass won first place. Irene Heinrich of Yorkton won second place, and Eleanor Murray of Yorkton won third.
In the men’s championship flight, Darryl Binkley of Kamsack placed first, Jim Wright of Kamsack placed second, and Brad Gabora of Canora placed third.
In the men’s first flight, Delmar Pasiechnik of Preeceville was awarded first place. Lawrence Everritt of Canora Beach placed second, and Larry Lesyk of Canora placed third.
Bob Ward of Yorkton was the winner of the men’s second flight. Delmar Myrfield was awarded second place, and Dwight MacDonald of Canora was awarded third.
