With the help of coaches Mike McGriskin and Logan Hilderman, the second-place Kamsack Midget Flyers are looking forward to a great season after having racked up four points with two wins over both the Yorkton Remax Terriers and the Yorkton Triple A Drilling Terriers November 7 and 8.

The Kamsack Midgets opened their season at home with an impressive 6-5 victory in a heated battle against the Remax Terriers on November 7. Goals were scored by Brennan Watson with three; Sebastian Lynx, two, and Kienan Shingoose, who netted one.

The assists went to Taryn Broda, Keadan Whitehawk and Brennan Watson who each helped out with one apiece.

Brayden Cote played a very hard game, blocking four shots and getting three shots on goal. Zac Petruk, Evander Brass, and AP Hunter Shankowsky helped the Flyers’ two shots on goal and blocking one shot each.

“Hoss” Hilderman set the tone at the right time late in the third period with an explosive hit on a Terrier forward.

The Flyers travelled to Yorkton on Sunday afternoon and fought a long, hard game, defeating the Drilling Terriers 6-4.

The point-getters were Brennan Watson who scored another three goals; Sebastian Lynx, with two goals and two assists, and Kienan Shingoose with one goal.  Zac McGriskin chipped in with two assists while Keadan Whitehawk had one.

Goaltender Zac Cote stood tall in both games, stopping 22 shots on Saturday and making 31 saves on Sunday.

The Flyers were scheduled to face the first-place Moosomin Rangers (3-0-0) at home on November 13. The Midgets were to hit the road on November 14 to play Ochapowace Thunder (0-1-0).
