Brandey Blahut and Morgan Sapara each knocked down back to back free throws down the stretch to ice a 44-40 Yorkton Regional High School win over the Melville Comprehensive School Cobras on Saturday afternoon.

The Saskatchewan High Schools Athletic Association (SHSAA) basketball action continued for coach Tony Hayden and the YRHS senior girls.

"The free throws capped an amazing fourth quarter spurt of 25 points after mustering just 19 points through the first three quarters," observed coach Hayden.

The win saw the Raiders come out of their conference playoffs as a three seed as they advance to the regional playoff which is set for March 16-17.

According to Hayden, the Lady Raiders knew they already had their tickets stamped back on Friday evening when they beat the Estevan Elecs by a 54-43 count.

Raelene Nagy continued to put up some ridiculous numbers while Rebecca McLaren added 11 points.

Nagy also had 16 rebounds. They lost to the Notre Dame Hounds soundly, says Hayden, falling 98-27. Kaelynn Boyda had eight points.
