Yorkton has done well in Snoriders Magazine's annual Reader's Choice Awards.

The city took silver (third place) in Favourite Powder Riding in Saskatchewan category and bronze (fourth place) in both the Favourite Overall Snowmobiling Area in Saskatchewan and the Favourite Groomed Trail in Saskatchewan categories.

A couple of local businesses were also recognized. Schrader's took silver in the Favourite Snowmobile Dealer in Saskatchewan category and Mano's Restaurant was the bronze winner in the Favourite Restaurant Non-Chain in Saskatchewan.

Randy Goulden, executive director of Tourism Yorkton, credited the local snowmobiling organization for the honours.

"Congratulations to the Yorkton SnoRider Club for their continued dedication and to making the Yorkton area a snowmobiling destination of choice," she said.

The magazine, which focuses on western Canada, has been running the online survey for 16 years.

Between its print and electronic editions, newsletter and website, Snoriders, which also publishes as Riderswest, claims to reach more than a million readers annually.
